Problem to be solved: To provide a food or drink, pharmaceutical products, and/or external medicine for skin containing a water-soluble formulation of an α-lipoic acid having improved water solubility.
Solution: The cosmetic composition comprises a water-soluble formulation containing one or more water-soluble substances selected from methanol, ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, butanol, 1,3-butylene glycol, ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, glycerol, acetone and water, α-lipoic acid ranging in weight from 0.01 to 200% based on the total weight of the water-soluble substances, and, preferably, one or more substances selected from glycerol fatty acid ester, sucrose fatty acid ester, condensed ricinoleate, sorbitan fatty acid ester, propylene glycol fatty acid ester, saponin, and sterol.
