Summary
Problem to be solved: To provide a dietetic composition derived from raw coffee beans with a good safety profile, which has excellent dietetic effects and is beneficial for preventing and treating lifestyle-related diseases such as diabetes. Solution: The dietetic composition contains a polar solvent extract of defatted raw coffee beans as an active component. The polar solvent extract described above is preferably a hydrous ethanol extract, and more preferably a hydrous ethanol extract with an ethanol concentration of 40 to 90% (wt/wt). The oil content of the defatted raw coffee beans described above is preferably extracted off using N-hexane. The dietetic composition is preferably used in combination with one or more of Salacia extract, evening primrose extract, sesamin, and Garcinia. The dietetic composition can be used as a material in food and drink, pharmaceutical products, and external medicine for skin.
